“The Soul” is the first song on Badbelly’s 2020Children project, and as with many of his productions, he used a rough acapella as reference for future vocal arrangement. In this instance, he used the beginning of Sage Francis’ “Civil Obedience” off of 2007’s Human the Death Dance album.

What he didn't account for was just how well the entire acapella would fit with his instrumental. When Sage gave him the full acapella, Badbelly got to work making the marriage official. Here is “Civil Obedience (of The Soul) - Badbelly Remix."
